GENERAL INFORMATION
95% of our gear is shipped in from every state in the union. However, improper packing is almost always the reason gear gets broken in shipping. Please make sure your gear is packed properly. The orginal box is always good if the foam is in good shape. Otherwise, you should use a hard shell shipping case. We have loaner cases if you need one. Do not ship cameras with the lens attached to the body. If you do not have lens or body caps, just seal in plastic bags. Do not ship decks with the plastic feet attached. This will cause mother-board damage especially on DVW and HDW decks.
Unless we get written permission from you, we will insure each piece that ships from here. You should check your insurance policy to make sure you have cartage coverage. If you do not, you should either insure for the replacement amount or the cost of the most expensive board or CCD block. I'll be happy to help guide you in figuring insurance coverage.
PROTOCOL
When your gear arrives it will be treated as my own. The shop is completely secured so there is no need to worry. We will unpack and check your gear in. Usually I look at each piece the day it comes in. I will do my best to get you a written estimate within 24 hours of arrival. Be advised that some problems require in depth troubleshooting and may take longer. No work will be charged to you until you approve the job. Some rudimentary work may be needed to secure an estimate. But you will not be charged for this work unless you decline the estimate. Once the estimate has been approved, parts will be ordered and the work performed. Turn-around-time is usually 48-72 hours (excluding shipping) and depending on parts availability. I keep a pretty good inventory here, so unless Sony can't supply a part there shouldn't be a problem in getting the gear back to you within that time-frame.
PAYMENT
Kinescope accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Paypal, company check, and wire transfer. Payment is expected before shipping the gear back to you. Unless prior arrangements are made, I do not extend credit terms. If you must have terms, you will need to speak with me before shipping your gear.
