The BVW Series

These are actually my personal favorite to service. They consist of the BVW-200, 300,300A,400,400A and tape-path wise the BVW-D600. These units use a special tape transport called a secondary transverse threading transport. What this means is when you load a cassette, the chassis assembly moves along with the transport sliders which does away with the threading ring type technology.

The older the camera gets though you get problems with surface mount electrolytic capacitors. The problem is they leak a very alkaline chemical that given enough time will degrade the traces on the printed circuit board. Not to mention cause video record problems. As long as the boards aren't too damaged we can take care of this problem. And if you need a rebuilt board, we have them for far less than Sony.
